Bhaavya Roy-Can you describe the detailing or techniques used in creating this dress?
"Absolutely. Detailing is where the true spirit of a garment comes to life, and for me, it’s never just decorative—it’s narrative. As Bhaavya Roy, I approach each design with a deep respect for craftsmanship and subtlety, and this dress is a reflection of that philosophy.
The construction begins with a carefully chosen base fabric—a lightweight, breathable silk blend that drapes effortlessly and moves with grace. The fabric is pre-treated using eco-conscious methods to maintain its natural texture while giving it durability and structure.
The surface detailing includes hand-embroidered motifs inspired by organic patterns—leaf veins, flowing lines, and architectural symmetry. One of my favorite features is the panel layering, subtly integrated into the hem and bodice to create depth without adding bulk. These panels were hand-cut and stitched with precision to maintain balance in movement. We also used hidden tacking techniques to secure the lining, ensuring clean edges and a seamless flow.
Even the tiniest details—like the invisible closures, the custom-dyed threads, and the hand-finished edges—are intentional. Every stitch is purposeful, every texture tells a story. For me, this level of quiet craftsmanship is what makes a dress feel truly personal. READ MORE
